Expanded polystyrene waste management

What should be done with the EPS waste?

Traxpo purchases in a daily basis expanded polystyrene waste from our partners all over the world. If you would like to collaborate with us and valorize this kind of waste we need you to contact us by email or phone and provide further information about the material available.

Once we receive this information, a Traxpo executive will contact you in order to make you a valorization offer considering the specifications and the evolution of the plastics market in that given moment.

EPS waste is problematic due to its lack of density. This make it expensive to transport and difficult to accept in a landfill. In order to be able to manage it properly we need to increase its density over 200kg/m3 which increase its value and make it worth to be transported.

We recommend using one of these two kinds of densifiers:

EPS cold compactors: Increase the density up to 200-500kg/m3. It is the most common kind of compactor in the marked.

Melting Densifier: they could work through extrusion, electric resistance or infrared. They are usually slower and require more energy. They are able to reduce up to 90:1.

We collaborate with the main EPS compacting machinery builders.

We offer free technical support in order to choose the best compacting solution for the need detected. In case there is no enough volume to justify the investment, we are able to put you in contact with waste management companies close to your facilities wiling to bring this material in.

Once densified, the material needs to be palletized and protected with film to ensure a safe trip to our facilities in truck or container.solucion3

Once the goods reach Traxpo, the material will be weighted with our certified scale and proceed with the payment within the agreed terms.
